General Health Issues From A Patients POV

chronic pain what to do Here at PatientsPOV we cover current health events, topics, news, and views as it pertains to chronic pain. The information on this website is provided by patients for all patients in pain. Yes, we have extensive experience dealing with pain.

We find there to be a lack of current information as it pertains to chronic pain relief and treatment that actually gets filtered down to the patients, those that will benefit the most.

Sure there are many websites and blogs out there that are devoted to pain but many are either run by the media, overseas website owners, physicians, or patients who seem more focused on themselves and their stories than actually providing information as it pertains to health current events and news.

That’s where this site is different. We cover the most current health and pain related news each week in addition to providing our readers access to helpful articles on topics such as general health and wellbeing, diet and exercise, acute and chronic pain, pain management, and much more.

It is our experience as patients that a well-balanced approach to health affords each individual the best chance of controlling their pain and that in turn allows them to live a more comfortable, productive life.

The path to a healthier, pain free life begins with being a well-informed patient. Unfortunately quite a bit of information we receive is simply too hard to understand, self-serving and or biased in one way or another. Most health site owners fall into these categories:

• Physician run sites – Don’t get us wrong, having access to information provided by doctors with just a few strokes of the keys is sweet, if one can understand it. It has to be a doctor thing because we’re not the only that notices this. We have come across a few sites run by physicians that are written in laymen’s terms but these are far and few between.

• Brand run sites – These are the sites that are run by the good people who provide us the products and services that we, as a nation, consume in copious amounts to insure our good health or to cure our various ailments and diseases.

• Patient run blogs or forums – These types of sites can be very motivating because they generally are topics with regard to overcoming health issues. They let others share their experiences but they can be sometimes thin when it comes to providing actual information.

• Media sites – Yep, these sites quite often have a health category but they are strictly news and this news is hardly ever presented from a patient’s point-of-view.

Now don’t get us wrong because we know for a fact there are plenty of informative sites — we visit them quite often.

However, since most health blogs fall into one of the four categories listed above, it can be daunting to find a health blog that is written by a patient for patients with the purpose of covering a diverse range of topics, all as seen through patient’s eyes.

This site is run by patients. Our intent is to simply provide the readers of this weblog with the type of health related news, views, and tips that are very hard to find on the web in today’s day and age—with a few exceptions.
PatientsPOV will be as diverse and unbiased as possible. We may side with physicians on one topic (pissing off patients) but rip them to shreds in another—and we’re patients!

This is the whole point. We’re going to call it as we see it. And with a combined fifty two years of dealing with many types of health issues such as: aliments, illnesses, multiple surgeries, countless hospital stays, fighting our State and Federal Governments for our friends as well as our own rights as patients, dealing with insurance companies, having severely ill family members, and so much more.

As you can see we are well versed as patients and are well past the point of being totally “pro-patient” having learned over time to look at health issues from all possible angels. We find that remaining as neutral as possible is usually the best road to travel when seeking information, solutions, compromise, and truth.

Your participation is encouraged no matter what your particular POV is on any given topic—fire away with your opinions!

If there is something health related you would like us to cover or if you have health related topics you would like to share as a guest blogger, then by all means hit us up.

We may be a small now but as long as we keep our valued readers up to date on current health events and news, in addition to providing them with well researched unbiased and informative articles on health written with our visitors best interests at heart, we hope to become one of the webs most trusted health related websites.
